I've been seeing this question asked on a lot of cellular modding/hacking forums: "Does the
RAZR V3M accept or work with
2GB MicroSD cards?" Fortunately I have an answer (at least, for
Alltel users); 2GB MicroSD cards do indeed work! I received my
Sandisk 2GB MicroSD card from UPS this afternoon and upon plugging it into my V3M the card is recognized with roughly
1.9GB of usable space reported by the phone. As an added bonus turning video capture to the
maximum setting allowed me to capture three minutes of footage versus the normal fifteen seconds. Not bad, eh?
You can transfer files one of two ways. The first is by plugging your MicroSD card into your computer via a
Card Reader. The second is by using
Motorola Phone Tools (I have version 4 with all the latest updates installed). Once you have your phone connected via MPT, you will need to load the File Transfer Studio and browse to the
MMC(Removable)\motorola\shared folder. Note that I'm using an Alltel phone, so it might be different depending on your cellular provider. Just copy your files across to their respective folders (i.e. MP3 files go into the audio folder) and you're all set!
