Thanks for this. Just took receipt of my Inspiron 531 today and formatted to XP straight away.
Gutted to find lack of XP support from Dell - utterly shocking. Downloading this pack now, hopefully it suits my Inspiron or this night will never end.
Thanks
Conor
Yo, u da man son. What a break. Thanks 4 taking the time to "do what u do". All the best in all.

Help!!!
I am trying to download the Dell Inspiron 531 Windows XP Driver Pack from your site, and it says I do not have permission.
How do I get permission?
I really need this pack quickly.
Thanks,
Jerry
Keep getting the error message from the Apache server same as Jerry is getting. Would like to get the Inspiron 531 XP drivers for my two new Dell PCs.
I am also getting this error. Would like to download ASAP
The links should now be working. Please use the alternate download mirrors provided if you are still unable to make it work.
I apologize for all the hassles, this post alone was generating 250GB+ of bandwidth usage a month!
Thanks for the driver files worked graet just one question after installiong everything my hardware still shows ethernet missing why?
thanks for the pack... im dloading evreything I can find before I format the drive. how did you work arount the SATA drive problem? XP doesnt ''see'' the drive when istalling. So, if I read correctly, I should rip XP from the CD, insert the SATA driver with a tertiary program, and then burn a bootable ISO. Is there a more simple option? thanks in advance, greg.
Greg, I didn't have an issue with Windows XP not recognizing the SATA drive. Are you installing off a disc with Service Pack 2 slipstreamed?
If you are still having problems this might be some custom configuration machine. You might have to pull the nvidia drivers onto a floppy disk somehow and pre-load them before actually installing Windows XP (I think you hit to load third party drivers at setup).
Good luck!
I feel obligated to add value to this site, since it worked so well for me. I ran into a small issue when I tried installing XP fresh. My 320gb SATA drive was only recognized up to ~100gb. After careful reading, I came across a message that said you need XP Service Pack 2 Install for the SATA to be recognized fully. I used nlite (http://www.nliteos.com/download.html)to "slipstream" Service Pack 2 into the XP installation. It's a free program and it worked perfectly. I tried to install again, and everything came out just fine. My two cents in case you run into this problem too.
OMG DOOD you are fricken awesome, I been searching for 8 or 9 hours for something like this and finally i was gonna give up searching, then i said heck, lets search one more time and this popped up, I tried so many drivers within the last 9 hours and all of the drivers you slapped together works excellent. i downloaded it and tried it ha you made me so happy.
I do not know why I could not find this 9 hours ago but am i so fricken happy.
this should be on every forum about wipping vista off the dell 531s to install xp.
THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN MAN
Glad this helped you out! The 531's are good machines, it's just too bad Dell doesn't offer an easy path to putting Windows XP on them. Now that's fixed. Spread the word to those looking for a solution!
Everything worked like a charm with these drivers, so tnx a million
I believe you just right click on the amd inf file, second line in the column, click install.
Hi,
do you think these drivers will work on Inspiron 531 Slim ? I have a disc with Xp Sp2 already but not sure about the slipstreamed part. What that it means ? I don't have to press F6 then ?
Thanks !
It should work just fine. I used this on the full-size Inspirons but unless the slims have drastically different hardware you should be good to go.
Hi Chris, everything was perfect with this drivers !!
i just can't connect through wireless card ... still working on it : )
I just solved the wireless problem. If yours is Broadcom 802.11g Wireless, it's actually Asus WL-135XX (where XX is some letters I forgot). I took out the card and checked the model names. Download Driverv3100640.zip from Asus homepage and unzip it. Then from Device Manager, goto Property of the network device with question mark. Choose 'update driver' then choose the file from the unzipped file. I am using the wireless card without any problem now.
Thanks for the solution Charles! I updated the post to reflect your comment.
I can't find the driver on the Asus site. Do you have a URL? The other drivers worked great. The only thing left is to get my wireless card working.
Thanks man. I'm running these machines for business purposes and it sucks that you have to go back to the old way of digging up drivers. Thanks for posting.
WOW! thank you.. this is perfect. I've asked nvidia and dell; they are no help
I just used the files on a 531s with no problems. a million thanks,
James
I hope these work with the 531s!
Thanks so much for your effort!
Even though I am a linux fan, a lot of businesses use MS
Thank you so much, I was about to call Dell and return the computer if I couldn't find XP drivers.
So I guess I have to pay for Vista Home Basic and then pay for XP pro again to go back to XP. Is there any way I can roll back to XP without bying the stupid OS again?
I can get an OEM XP Pro for about $90.
Thanks, and thanks for the driver work.
David B
I believe a Windows Vista license can be rolled back to Windows XP Professional. You might want to check on this. I know for a Windows XP Professional x64 license I was told to purchase a Windows Vista Business Upgrade and a media kit for Windows XP. I don't know if this applies to the general public (this was an academic purchase), but it's a starting point for you anyway.
hey chris im having the same trouble you were having with your dell inspirons with the drivers. i work on the computers at a clinic and was pointed your way. i cant download the file from the chat though and was wondering if you could email me the file. it would be greatly appreciated.
my email is fclark@bizstx.rr.com
thanks
Wow...where were you hiding??
this is awsome.
Thanks A BUNCH FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!
Thank you so much I just bought 32 of these computer for our lab and needed XP but could not find the drivers. I downloaded the files and wala it worked. Then I just made an image of that drive and pushed it out to the others. Made my life a lot easier. Thank you so much...
One thing i just realized its that i'm not seeing the Card reader that came in the 531S , anyone knows which driver should i use ?
Marce, did you try visiting the Dell Support website, entering Inspiron 531 and then selecting Windows XP for the operating system? I thought I remember seeing a few (note: VERY few) drivers in there, perhaps the card reader is one of them.
Many Thanks Chris. I slammed Dell on their feedback page and referred them to this link.
You're a gentlemen and a scholar, thanks for saving me a lot of time and keeping me from further ill feelings toward the evil empires of Dell and Microsoft.
I just got a Dell Inspiron 531 and installed XP on it and got all the drivers on it except for 3 that I can't seem to get:
Other PCI Bridge Device
SM Bus Controller
Unknown device
Does anyone know where I can get the drivers for these?
Thanks so much!
Mark, did you install all the nVidia drivers from the driver pack? It sounds like you are missing some of the nVidia chipset drivers.
I have installed all the drivers except the raid control, due to I have 1 hard drive. I still show Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller with a yellow question mark and "Unknown device"
I hate Dell. I really do. They are completely irresponsible, and tech support knows less than my dog does.
You are awesome for doing this. My only question is, doesit work with Inspiron 531S? I am guessing the S stands for suck because it really sucks that they dont offer XP drivers on their site.
But thank you for being awesome.
Hey Paul, thanks for spreading the word. For future reference the difference between a "531" and a "531S" is that the "S" stands for small form factor.
Feel like an idiot, after I read that people did have this woring with the 531s...
You rock. hands down. I will try to comb through the dell forums and direct them your page. thanks.
Don't blame Dell. Blame Microsoft. Dell is not allowed to support Windows XP at all anymore for home/home office. It's part of the agreement that Microsoft makes all resellers sign.
Blame dell for their crappy phone service, when someone with a thick, barely understandable accent introduces himself to you as "Scott" or "Jim".
I just ordered a low-budget 531s today, and am glad to find this stuff! Thanks!
btw I see no mention of bluetooth on this page. I ordered the bluetooth unit with the 13-in-1 media reader..
Has anyone installed XP on a 531 with the bluetooth component and had any problems with drivers?
I have a 531S with 13-in-1 reader ( without bluetooth ), i spoke with dell support ( almost worhtless ) and they said model of mine is TEAC CA-200 so yours must be TEAC CAB-200.
Maybe you can find drivers looking in Dell page , but only if you're keeping Vista, if not good luck.
IS there a bluetooth driver for inspirion 531s that works with xp?
THANK YOU
Hi, thanks for saving me a lot of work. Looked for a new PC for a week or so and really liked the 531 for price, features, and feedback so it just seemed like an unbeatable deal accept for Vista. Skeptical just as I was of bugs when XP was first released but SP2 made XP my favorite OS of all time. Then I read the review on CNET.com where the author, who also successfully installed XP, left URLs for the same drivers. Still came across of few problems before downloading, and after reading some more reviews I came across this site and whew, downloading this zip on my flash really saved me a lot of time. So now I am enjoying XP Pro on my new 531 and this thing really flies!! A great computer now!! Thanks a Million!!
used the xp driver pak for dell inspiron 531. installed the other stuff, fine.
can't figure out the 'amd away'
how do you use it?
Did you double click to install the AMD Away program? If so, it will remove an annoying "Other Devices" icon in your hardware devices applet in Windows XP. It's nothing critical, just a peace of mind so to speak.
All there is in the AMD away folder is a .cat file and a .inf file. What do I double click? Doesn't seem to be any executable, like the other three(3) in the folder above.
If you right-click the .INF file does the pop-up menu have an option called "Install"? If so, click it and restart your computer.
Another thing you can do is just go into the Device Manager and find the "Other Devices" (it's a yellow question mark icon) and then try and change the driver (Update Driver option when you right-click it). When it asks you for the path to the driver choose wherever you extracted the Dell Inspiron 531 Windows XP Driver pack to on your computer. It should find the AMD Away driver then and install it for you.
I recently Installed Win Xp Pro over the vista with a DELL OEM CD and downloaded the win xp drivers from DELL thinking oh these will work but when i went to install the driver the setup for every driver said couldnt find the right driver on the system so hopefully this pack will work
You Da MAN!!!! Thank you so much. I'd just formatted an Inspiron 531 and installed XP then realised that Dell couldn't help with drivers. I'm setting it up as a favour to a friend & didn't want to spend too long on it. I was considering putting Vista back on when I found this thread. The pack worked like a dream. Long live XP
Thank you very much, im in a time crunch and your download just saved me hours of headaches!!!! thanks again!
DELL YOU SUCK. Love your equipment but quit shoving Vista down our **** throats! So many small business upgrade their machines, but the software they need to operate is proprietary - and the vendors are small too - so they haven’t yet complied with Vista. The problem is, “Purchasing new equipment is becoming counter productive.” Not 100% sure of your business plan, but I’d guess selling computers is part of it?! Dell, please STOP making it a PAIN THE *** to comply with business requirements! ……..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE EFFORTS TO THE PERSON/PEOPLE who have spent the time to hunt down the individual drivers for this model. As a 15 year veteran in this industry it pines me to waste time tracking down a driver to utilize the operating system of my choice/necessity. Having gone through the driver assignment, I’ll state that at the time I pulled down the package it resolved all the problems I had with drivers. No viruses, no Spyware………………….. Thanks to all.
Thank you so much! Finding these drivers must have been incredibly difficult, given dell's penchance for being vague with their descriptions. Thanks to you, sir!
Wish I would have seen this before I went throught all the crap of finding it myself but oh well...
I still have one issue: BT-Mini Receiver better known as Teac CAB-200 19 in 1 card reader / Bluetooth. I NEED TO FIND A DRIVER FOR THE BT mini receiver then I will have overcome all the crap that the DELL butheads and microsoft a_ _ holes have put use through.
I installed this after I replaced vista with Xp and everything works perfect except my dvd/cd rom and 13 in 1 card read. As a result I can't install anymore of my programs that I have at home on cd......can anyone help me please. thanks in advance.
Did you try running Windows Update then looking under Hardware for drivers?
I figured out finally how to install the driver for the Teac Cab-200. What I did was went here:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/140997
And downloaded the bluetooth packed named: R152639.EXE
After the file was done downloading, I right clicked on it and extracted the files.
Then I went into Start > Right clicked on My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager.
I then righ clicked on the BT-Mini receiver and clicked on Update Driver.
This pops up the Hardware Update Wizard and choose "Yes, this time only", then choose "Install from a list or specific location". Next, choose "Search for the best driver in these locations", uncheck "Search removable media", and check "Include this location in the search". Browse to the folder that you extracted the executable bluetooth package, select folder "Win32", and click ok. Then click next in your Hardware Update Window. Voila! It should work for I am using mine right now. Thanks for the XP drivers here, for it helped alot. You might want to add this to your list!
Sorry this was so long, I wanted to be specific so people wouldn't get lost or have a lot of questions. Thanks!
Thanks a lot for the package. I installed XP, couldnt find right drivers - gave up and reformatted with vista.
As a last try I was just searching for drivers and saw this post. You're brilliant mate.
I'm downloading the package. Will reformat with XP and give it another go - coz I have vista.
Nice work it's people like you that make the internet the wealth of knowledge that it is.
Hi,
Thanks for this wonderful collection. You've really made my day.
I have a problem though. One PCI device does not work. FM801 PCI Audio (WDM), does not install properly.
Can you please help.
Thanks
Try going to Windows Update and looking under Hardware for the drivers.
Shouldn't the following also be installed?
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver Version 1.3.2.0053 for Windows XP
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html
That's up to you. I have tried both methods, one using that driver you mentioned and the other leaving it off the machine. I didn't notice any difference between the two.
Thank you so much for this. Everything worked great! One question; I have a 500gb hard drive. XP only recognizes just over 100gigs of it. Do you know how I can access the balance?
Chris, it sounds like you have a partition setup somewhere on there. Here's what I would do: get a copy of Paragon Partition Manager or any other partition software for Windows. It will "see" the other partition, and should allow you to combine the two into one large partition. Please make sure you backup you installation in case you accidentally remove a partition!
Good luck!
You are THE BEST .....IIII LLLOOOVVVEEEE YYYYOOOUUUUU ...You save me a lot of time Tanks!!!
Hey Dude,
thx alot, you saved me quiet a headache. Dell support sites need some updates.
my new 531s rocks...
Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to install xp over vista for the Dell Inspiron 531?
Jimbo, simply boot the Inspiron 531 from the Windows XP (Home or Professional) installation CD. Choose to setup a new Windows installation, and be sure to REMOVE the existing installation (the wizard will walk you through the steps). Just be aware that this will reformat your PC and you will loose any data, so be sure make a backup before you do this.
Good luck!
Man Chris, you're a lifesaver!!! If you were a woman, I would kiss you! Thanks again. This solved all of my problems!
Hi.
Thanks for the awesome driver pack.
Everything installed well and worked like a breeze. Although, a very interesting thing....
Audio drivers are installed properly, but the "Sound and Audio Devices" shows "No Audio devices".
I can't play anything...
Valeu mesmo! Estava precisando. É um absurdo o o cd vir apenas com os drivers para o Vista. Thanks so much!
Ive been looking for these xp drivers for ages because i kickt my vista when it got on my nerves because it asks for administratorpriveleges for every CRAP!!!!!!!!!thanks to all these people who took the time to do a wonderful thing like this!!!!
PS.how do you converrt those drivers_??;) cya
Will this down load work on the Inspiron 1521? I can not get the drivers for the 1521 so I can install XP and get the sound to work,
Thank you
Donald,
We're running into the same thing.
I was wondering if this worked for you on your 1521.
Thanks much
Gary
Chris,
you make me feel honored to have the same name as you.
this package is frikkin EXCELLENT!!!!
hope those money hungry arses enjoy this little present you provided. I know we did
As with many people on this thread, I was in the same boat and Dell couldnt help. I really appreciate you doing this. Thanks a lot!!!
Thank you soooo much ...since Vista no longer has hyperterminal I thought I was up the creek since Dell told me that the motherbord would not support XP does not support( over an hour long on the phone).....THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!
its well appreciated!!
Chris,
As everyone says - you rock! I sent this link to Dell tech support because they couldn't understand that I reimaged to XP and needed those drivers!! They kept sending me the Vista drivers - duh!
I have software which will only work on XP, it PISSES me off that manufacture refuse to offer drivers. Thanks DUDE
Hi, first of all thanks for the drivers!
I was wondering if this Drivers and procedures will work also installing a DUAL BOOT, Vista and XP??? I want to keep Vista for the Dell Warranty, and for later if it ever becomes a good choice.
here is the link for the Dual Boot if anyone wants to take a look:
http://apcmag.com/5485/dualbooting_vista_and_xp
thanks
unrinoceronte
Yes, this will work perfectly in a dual-boot scenario. You'll just need to install these drivers when you boot into your Windows XP partition.
Good luck!
awesome job. MAD PROPS. I have to downgrade pcs regularly and this saved me major time. Put a paypal donate ticker on your page, id put in 5$.
That's an idea! I'm moving over 200GB worth of bandwidth a month just from this website. It's going from a fun project to an expense! :o)
Glad these are continuing to work well for everyone!
hey chris im having trouble downloading the driver pak off of the internet it keeps saying page cannot be found so if you could i would appreciate it if you could email them to me at fclark@bizstx.rr.com
My sincerest thanks!!! I was beginning to look for the XP drivers when I came across your page. You rock buddy!
I've been trying to find these for a while. Can't seem to grt the page to come up though...server overload? If anyone has them or knows a mirror site, I would appreciate it!!
The link does not seem to be working. If anyone has the driver pack or knows where I can download it, please let me know.
Thanks

viper@angelsinarmor.org
Chris,
I don't know you but I feel like giving you a monster huge! This link did not work yesterday and as a result I spent most of the day searching for these crazy drivers!!!
THANKS DUDE!!!!!
Link worked fine today, Downloaded and will install tomorrow. Just wanted to say thanks!!
I apologize to everyone for the links being down. I had to move the files to another host as I was nearly over the limit for bandwidth imposed by my host.
If you are still having problems downloading, please comment here and I will rectify the error as soon as I can.
Hi Chris, I'm trying to dload the xp drivers for the Inspron 530 and this is what I get

Can you email me the pack that would be greatly apprecaisted
kschotts@shaw.ca
I have an Insiron 531s. I downloaded the pack. After many hours of struggle finaly (thanks to you) xp works on this computer. Thank you so much.
Laurentiu
Thanks you.
Finally I got my pc running with xp;
I lost about 3 hours trying to find the drivers on Dell.
Thanks Again
Very nice work Chris, keeping us sane in our upgrades from Vista to XP
Thanks!!
NajiBEEEb from Dell couldnt find them but I did here! Now I can get my dad off my back about his Win Vista learning curve and give him XP back
Bill Gates e de cacat!
YOU ARE GREAT! The drivers are great! You saved my day!
Thank you. I've installed XP on my Inspiron 531 and started looking for drivers everywhere. They where nowhere to be found. Untill I came across your solution. It works great, thanks again.
Another tip for installing the 19-1 card reader on XP. You don't need specific drivers, the drivers are build-in into XP. But XP just won't detect the card reader. A simple solution is to shutdown and open up the case, unplug the card reader cable from the motherboard. Then start XP again and remove the unknown device in the device manager. Then shutdown. Plugin the cardreader cable again, and start up. Voila, XP detects the card reader. Enjoy!
How do I install? I new to pc from unix. I unzip the files what is next? do I need to install these drivers someplace? any help would be appreicated.
Thank you for taking the time to post these drivers. You are an awesome human being! Totally! I work as a computer tech and have been spinning my wheels, just looking for these damn drivers. You saved my life and I will worship you forever
Add my thanks Sir....
You are really a nice person for doing this for others!
I would like to thank you so much for posting this. I have been working on a 531S for 4 hours now. XP SP2 installed in a snap and I upgraded the system memory to 1GB, however when I got in, I noticed that the drivers I had snagged from Dell's website didn't work. Yea, I knew they were for Vista, I was just hopeful. I managed to get the network card driver installed but it won't run, and the video driver I did get installed but the rest was thanks to you. Thanks for making this pack
I'd like to add my sincere thanks to all those above. May all your journeys be downhill and wind-assisted.
I got my Inspiron 531 running on XP Pro with these drivers, but with only 1 glitch. The fax modem speaker which was working under Vista now is silent, although the modem is working fine. I've tried all the obvious settings (speaker volume bar, reinstall Realtek drivers, reinstall modem drivers, speakers and mixer not muted). One curious thing, on machines with a fax modem, I'm used to seeing "phone line" listed as an audio device in Volume Control, but it's not listed on my system. Anyone have a similar problem, or any ideas?
You don't need Windows XP x64 Edition though you certainly can try to make it work. I haven't checked for 64-bit drivers of the above but if there is enough interest from users (feel free to comment) I will try to put together a 64-bit driver pack.
Remember that unless you have over 4GB of RAM 64-bit isn't going to make that much of a difference over 32-bit (though most 32-bit apps run slightly faster on a 64-bit system).
Would you please tell me where to find a driver pack of 64-bit (XP-compatible drivers) for Dell Inspiron 531S? I noticed you mentioned you could get a pack of drivers like that, so I'm just hoping you're still willing to provide that pack.
I really need to use Windows XP 64-bit, rather than the XP 32-bit edition.
Thanks so much for all the hard work. This thread is the best info I have received for the Inspiron. I had problem after problem after the XP install. This driver pack fixed everything.
Great Job Everyone!
This is great! Does this driver pack include the network card driver??
Thanks for driver pack fantastic tracking job.
I could not get audio to work so I taced the motherboard by number with
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php - and then found driver for sound onboard at this site - (http://tw.giga-byte.com/Support/Motherboard/Driver_DownloadFile.aspx?FileType=Driver&FileID=836 - [Microsoft UAA (Universal Audio Architecture) Bus driver (Full Multi-language version )
O.S. : Windows 2000,Windows XP,Windows Server 2003]
I hope this helps anyone with the same problem
oh man thanks so much .this workes great on my inspiron 531S. you are a god .
Help... when running XP setup, I press F6 to load OEM drivers, but because I don't have a floppy, setup is telling me that they could not find a floppy drive on your machine to load OEM drivers from floppy disk. How do I access these files on my USB? Thanks,
Ryan
Ryan, as far as I know you WILL need a floppy drive connected. I'm not sure if a USB floppy drive counts.
Vista and Windows 2008 Server will pull drivers off a CD/DVD or USB flash drive.
Hi Chris Thanks very much for putting together those driver packs helped me sooo much when I returned to XP, But i have a huge problem and was wondering if anyone can help me......
I have the Inspirion Dell Inspiron 531 with the Nvidia Graphics card on Board, I am trying to add a second graphics card to Have Dual Monitors but everytime I plug both it the computer freezes on the boot screen saying Action Required.......
I have added the new graphics card and It works perfectly until I add a Cable to the onboard graphics card........
Has anyone else had this issue as It has always worked on previous machines.
Cheers. Worked a treat.
You thought about bittorrenting the files?
No Doubt! Sharing via Bit Torrent would really lighten up on your bandwidth restrictions!!!
Thanks for sharing this great pack! Was a life saver when working on a relative's PC when I was horrified to see there was no XP driver support on Dell's website for her new 531S from Best Buy!!! After installing I had only 1 thing in device manager that wasn't recognized, but that was found with windows updates!
Thanks for the idea of setting up a torrent, I might end up doing that!
Thank you, thank you so much for the drivers, I can now use windows xp on my Inspiron 531.
One question: is windows xp supports "Cool and Quiet", do we need any additional driver for "cool and quiet". Thank you again any information.
Maggie
Maggie, don't worry about the Cool 'n Quiet feature. I believe the AMD drivers in the pack cover this but either way it's not important if you are running Windows XP on a desktop computer.
thanks for the help it got my dell 1521's bluetoth working on xp
long live xp! long live xp!
I actually needed the AMD Null Away Driver from this package to make one of my Unknown devices go away because it's only supported under Media Center Edition 2005 and I'm running Windows XP SP2. Only place I could find it was here.
The link doesn't work! This is exactly that what i need.
Can someone post a correct link.
Thank you all.
Hello!
Tried to download the Driver Pack and get Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /archive/INSPIRON_531_XP_DRIVER_PACK.7z on this server.
I thought that I would have to register but I just can't locate any option to register. can someone please help and email me either the link to download the pack or email me with some information. Thank you.
Sorry everyone, apparently the permissions where changed on the files. You should be able to download them again!
Hello Chris!
I am excited to being able to have my 531s work with XP, but I am stucked at the door... I am getting the Forbidden message and can't download the files!
Chris,
Looks like the link is down again due to a permissions issue. I hope that the problem is short lived - I would very much like to use your collection of drivers and bite the hand that made this mess (Dell + Microsoft). Please let us know when it is back up.
Ebus
This sounds like exactly what I am looking for, but I can't access the files. Will they be available again at some point? Thanks so much for sharing!
I put these files on a site that sends big files for a guy called Darren and he said he needed them quickly but it has been 3 days and he has not downloaded them. So send me an email address and I will forward them to you. They are only available for 3 days more on this site. My email is below
Jhampa
Looks like the permissions are off again. My boss just purchased 35 of these suckers... Guess who needs to install them?
Can you check the permissions again or email me the package location?
Thanks!
Just purchased the 531s AMD 4000 and after reading a few forums was regreting my choice. Found you and feel great again. XP is great and from what I hear, it runs very fast on the 531s. Looking forward to using your package, so thanking you in advance. May your karma only get better!
Thanks
i purchased a dell inspiron 530s w/xp from dell and when i recieved it it was fried. so dell replaced it with another 530s but now has vista to i replaced it with xp of course. however now i have some missing driver issues as expected.
the BTminiRECIEVER was one of them and have downloaded it. but mainly was wondering if the driver pack on first post will work for 530s.... anyone know ??
I need these drivers BADLY, can we please get the permissions turned back on, or can someone with hosting capabilities please repost?

Guys, I apologize for all the issues here. I have edited the original post stating the reason for the issues, and the fact that I am working on resolving them. I was using in excess of 250GB/month in bandwidth just from this post alone!
Please use the 7zip archive when downloading to help save bandwidth and keep things alive longer for everyone else. Thanks!
Yes, what you are offering is great and a service that is demanding for downloads. I hope it works out for you to fix this. We as a community seem to take better care of ourselves than the suppliers. Why doesn't Dell just put this on their site? Hummmmmmmmm.

Glad I found your post on XP driver pack. When I bought my Dell inspiron 530 I insisted on getting it with XP but no way. Many of my old programs don't work on Vista so I want to install XP in dual boot for these programs. Before starting this I want to make sure I have all the drivers I need. Dell refuses to help. The drivers in your file are for 531 so I'm afraid they will not work for 530. How do I find all the drivers I need?
The files are now available on Bit Torrent! Thanks to bob9201 on the Pirate Bay for the initial seeding and setup.

Chris;
This worked great but I still have 2 question marks on the device drivers - not sure what it is.
My problem is that I want to install a second hard drive but after much grief etc. I discovered that XP only sees
SATA 0 and 1. I can't get it to see
2 & 3.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Just wanted to say thanks for getting it on a torrent. This has been such a big help that I'll keep bit torrent open for others to download this file.
Chris,
This worked great but my usb drive only work on 1.0 not usb 2.0. any ideas?
Thanks.
I have the exact same issue and have searched many other areas, were you able to resolve this?
These files were a blessing indeed. I only have one unrecognized item,
PCI simple communications controller
I can't seem to fix this. Any ideas out there?
Just fixed it. This is great, my Inspiron 531 now is complete, flies like an eagle and I am a happy camper.

Thanks alot man. Since vista is so garbage, I downgraded to xp when I first got the computer. Luckily i found this page, because There is no support for the PC!
Hey.. you should put this file up on some free file hosting site.. like dropload or rapidshare or others like it.. I just went on a driver search for my nephew.. I just purchased a 531s for him, and he hates visa (can't blame him or anyone) (remark on vista, for first time computer users it may be ok.. but for anyone who has used xp previously.. it sucks) anyway.. I really appreciate that you have put this driver pack together.. haven't tried it yet.. but thank you in advance!!! downloading it now.. just wanted to share the idea of free file hosting for you to save bandwidth on your own server.. offload it to a free mirror somewhere..
free file hosting.. more info..
don't know if I can post a link here..
but simply do a google search for free file hosting.. no quotes.. and you get a huge list.. mediafire is great.. but 100mb limit.. so you could split the archive with 7zip into 100mb volumes.. giving two download links.. or browse google and find a free host that allows more.. but check out this google search link..
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=free+file+hosting&btnG=Google+Search
I REALLY NEED THIS ONE TOO.. TOO BAD THE LINK IS NOT WORKING ANYMORE. SHOOOOT
The download links are updated, please let me know if there is an outage!
Thank you so much for the drivers!!!Everything is working great, except for that I cannot get the computer to pick up any connection to the internet, though an ethernet is plugged in. It's a 531S and it does not have a wireless card.
Please Help!!!
Chris,
I formatted Vista to install XP SP 2 only to find I the supplied driver for the network chip didn't work on XP (I should have checked first).
You have saved me alot of time and effort. I appreciate it alot.
Thanks,
Stephen
Chris, This worked great but my usb drive only work on 1.0 not usb 2.0. any ideas? Thanks.
Are you sure you have a USB 2.0 device plugged in? If not, do you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or above installed?
Chris, you are AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for this post. You set an example of what the perfect tech/engineer should be. Thanks again!
chris, thank you very much! my 531 with XP turns out to be a perfect pc!!!
I have had the problem of not having any audio at all, I hope this pack of drivers works for me
ALSO----IF YOUR AUDIO STILL DOESN'T WORK, GO TO THE DEVICE MANAGER, UNFOLD THE SYSTEM DEVICES LIMB, AND MAKE SURE MICROSOFT UAA BUS DRIVER IS ENABLED, IT WILL GET DISABLED FOR SOME REASON WHEN DOWNGRADING FORM VISTA TO XP ON SOME COMPS. HOPE THIS HELPS! and thank you chris for putting up all the needed drivers
Thanks for this, it was a lifesaver... A quick google search will find drivers for the wireless card here http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/WL-100g-03/Driverv3100640.zip
thanks so much man for this, its a great help!!!! greetings from BELIZE!!!!!!
thx for the package but the links won't work for me. I get a "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)". Can you pls help me out? I also get no seeders on the torrent. I'd desperately need to set up XP on my inspiron 531.
i think the download link is not working anymore. just getting the getwarez.net homepage. thanks.
The links have been updated guys. Please comment again if you have issues.
I have one "unknown device" in my Device Manager list. It is between Nvida Network Bus Emulator and Processor. I have tried various searchs but I don't know what it is to get the driver for it. Anyone know what driver I need. Everything seems to work fine on the system, so I am happy. Just fixing the last item.
This site has been invaluable to many of us, thanks to Chris and Merry Christmas.
I found if I loaded all the drivers (as one would expect) that it eliminated the 'unknown device'. It was related to the network connection and broadband drivers. Whatever it was, loading them all removed that one 'unknown'.
hi Chris well i've been trying to download this driver pack bt am nt being able to.. cn u help me plz!
send me the links of al the drivers if possible, specially the graphics... thanks man... ur an angel!
Perfect thank you.
btw # 124 the unknown device is for the card reader.see reply #71
Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion but my system does not have a card reader. Not sure what it might be as everything I use works well. Hummmmmmmm
How do you get the xp cd to boot, I keep getting a error that says the version that you are using is a newer version.
people, dell has xp support right off the driver download page, good luck finding a 19 in 1 bluetooth media card reader driver though
Thanks,
Was really, really annoyed when XP could not find the network. Wasted 4 hrs looking for drivers, etc.
will this have the cd burner driver for xp as well? i cant seem to find it and get my cd burner to work since i took the vista off and put XP on
You my friend... YOU ARE F**KN awesome! thank you, thank you, thank you!
does anybody have these files?? none of the above links work and I really need the drivers.. Thanks
Keia, you may find the drivers at: forums . driverguide . com/showthread.php - ?t=43576&highlight=Dell+531s
You're welcome. Do you have Dell Inspiron with Windows XP (64bit)?
First & second link work, give that a shot.
jeeze its been 2 years since I commented on this pack and comments are still coming, Amazing!
Since the Pirate Bay tracker was taken down the bit torrent link is no longer active. I will remove it to eliminate further confusion.
johnny is right, the first two links are verified working per the post.
Thanks for putting together this pack that will save me an hour or so. I work at a small computer repair shop and finding drivers for an xp downgrade usually takes a lot longer than I would like. So thank you for doing the legwork.
Chris, it seems like the download links are not working. I get about 2.5 mb and the download stalls. It seems like you have the solution to problem. Could help please.
Darrell: I just tried it from my office and both links are working. Check your internet connection, otherwise I could create a mirror quick for you to see if it helps coming from another server.
Chris my Internet is good. I have several VPN tunnels and they don't appear to have dropped or anything. It is kind of stange, the download takes off with something like 60KB/sec and gets to a point and just stops. I even routed my pc threw my fail over ISP connection and came up the same results. Any ideas? Thanks for all your help.
Its that your ISP throttling you? I am able to download the file @500 kilobytes "half a meg" with no problem.
I got the file down. I am not sure what was going on but I was able to pull the second file at around 756kb/sec to 450kb/sec. My ISP doesn't do any throttling, I do some a couple web servers but have not had the need to on my Lan. I will just call it strange. Thanks for your help. The drivers worked perfectly.
Okay good, I added on mirror just in case others have odd problems as well.
One week ago I decided to try windows seven, but I had some problems with software that I need everyday...
So I'm installing back windows xp, thanks a lot for this drivers pack you saved my day...
Thank You Chris!!!
You ROCK!
Saved me a LOT of time getting my computer switched over from Vista to XP.
VERY MUCH appreciated!
Thanks for keeping this online. I lost my copy and am now re-installing from scratch. You made my day!
